About Colonial Baptist Church

Welcome to A Place to Call Home

Family-Oriented Church

Families are the bedrock of society, but strong families will never be built without the nurturing environment of a happy home; and a truly happy home can never be attained without a Biblical foundation. The families of America need to find a home in a Bible-believing church where they can enjoy security, structure and a new way of life.

"The challenge today is to create a strong home, nurturing the family so that each family member can become all that God has intended for them to be."

Colonial Baptist Church was started in 1984. The congregation met in a rented facility for four years. After serving as the assistant pastor, Ed Leake assumed the pastorate in October 1987, overseeing the move into a permanent facility in September 1988. Through the years, the Lord has greatly blessed the church in allowing the ministry to expand and grow to have a worldwide impact. Located in a rural setting, the church draws its congregation from a wide area. Facility expansion is being planned for the near future.

There is a fully graded Sunday School program that ministers to all ages. Additionally, a discipleship/mentoring class for men and women is offered. For the ladies, a Bible study, meeting in individual homes, provides fellowship and spiritual encouragement. The men gather at the church each Wednesday morning at 6 am for a time of prayer and enjoy special fellowships throughout the year. As an outreach to the community, services are conducted at local assisted living/nursing homes in the area.

A Bible-Believing Church

With the King James Bible as the foundation for preaching, teaching and living, Colonial Baptist Church continues to be a conservative, fundamental Bible preaching church. It is on this firm foundation of the Word of God that the church stands and upon which it bases its ministries and outreach.

A Missions-Minded Church

Colonial Baptist continually strives to fulfill the goal of taking the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost throughout the world. To that end, the church has a vital missions program, supporting missionaries and mission works that span the globe. In 1993, Colonial Press, the printing ministry of Colonial Baptist Church was begun. It serves to provide sound doctrinal and discipleship material for missionaries and laborers serving at home and on the foreign field. God has generously provided every need and blessed in miraculous ways. As the burden grows, the vision of Colonial Baptist Church grows.

It is our desire to provide you and your family with a place to experience the love of the Lord Jesus Christ and the help and encouragement to make it through the trying times. At Colonial Baptist Church we believe that somewhere within all the kindness and hospitality you will find a place to call home!
